About Us

The Mahatma Education Society was established in 1970 with the dedication and perseverance of Dr. K.M. Vasudevan Pillai and Dr. Daphne Pillai. The Mahatma Education Society is a group of institutions for excellent education and career competence. The institute's core objective is to improve each student's socioeconomic standing. This esteemed group of institutions began with a vision of a school and has evolved into an institute that provides education at all levels. Starting from pre-primary to postgraduate level to PhD, the Mahatma Education Society has a family of over 35,000. There are currently over 48 institutes spread across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Rasayani, and the empire now houses more than 30,000 students. The institute is affiliated with Mumbai University and has received recognition from organizations such as the University of Mumbai, the Maharashtra government, the AICTE, NAAC, IBO, the NBA, and others in the field of education.

Alegria - the Festival of Joy is more than just a festival, it's an emotion shared by all the proud Alegrians. Alegria is an intercollegiate festival held by the Pillai Group of Institutions that takes place annually. With a footfall of over 50,000 the festival is deluged with enthusiasm and excitement all over. The event is a whole package of enjoyment, thrills, and incredible talent. Every year, without fail, the dais of Alegria has led us to a magnificent event with a flow of incredibly talented performers and star celebrities.

A celebration of timeless give and take between the past, present and future. The potential of blending the beauty of history with the future is what this year Alegria is all about. With rapid heart beats of the Alegrians, the theme for Alegria 2025 is Threads of Time. This theme summons participants to witness as to how different timelines of ancient stories, art, and traditions continue to influence our modern lives. It merges the beauty of the past with the probability of what the future will be, curating immersive experiences that highlights the bold nature of time. Through all of this the theme does not just offer entertainment, it provokes a spark within the viewers about the never-ending influence of time.
