Alegria 2k17 – Day 3

Alegria 2k17 – Day 3

The fun and excitement continued on the 3rd day of the Festival of Joy. Everyone was even more enthusiastic and high spirited since Day 1 and 2 proved to be so much fun!

The day began with the Solo Classical Dance Competition and we got to see some amazing powerhouses of talent and their graceful performances which left the crowd spellbound. This competition was judged by Kumar Sharma who appreciated all the contestants.

The classical mood of the festival was stirred up by the Mr And Ms Alegria Contest. This contest brought out some amazing talents from the participants right from Rapping to gymnastics and belly dancing. It was judged by the beautiful and witty Rochelle Rao who had some amazing words to say to motivate the Alegrians.

This was followed by the meet and greet with well-acclaimed cinematographer K U Mohanan. Our students had lots of questions for this amazing and talented artist who answered them all with informative as well as witty replies!

Simultaneously, we had numerous other events going on in various parts of our campus. The Global Village by AISEC interns was a great opportunity to interact with students of different nationalities from across the world.

Gaming activities such as Mini Militia and Fifa were thoroughly enjoyed by all the students.
All the events, big and small, had a thunderous response from everyone.
The Freestyle Football Session by the 19-year-old Lisa Zimouche had everyone in high spirits. She displayed her various skills and left everyone astonished by her talent. Some of our students and teachers also got an opportunity to showcase their skills with the football. The highlight was the face-off between Lisa and our very own Franav Pillai sir which was cheered by all the students and teachers alike.

The Freestyle Group Dance conducted on the main stage saw some amazing and awe-inspiring performances from various groups not just from Mumbai but from across India. The students completely rocked the stage and the event was judged by the Hip-Hop Champions of 2016 – ‘Kings United’. The audience consisting of about 1500 students and teachers were left enthralled and asking for more.

The Fashion Show began soon after and was a myriad of colours and style. The beautiful and gorgeous Arthi Venkatesh was the judge for the night. There was a stunning display of talent and creativity with each team trying to put their best step forward on the ramp.

The entire day was fulfilling and magical as ever and had everyone looking forward to the next day of Alegria. Such love, excitement and warm reception just went on to show that Alegria is much more than just a college festival for all Pillaites.
