Anjali – Visitors at #Sector16

Dance is an expression of our feelings. It gives a new dimension to thoughts and unleashes our inner emotions. India is the birthplace of various dance forms and has always encouraged and nurtured this beautiful art of physical expression.
Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Odissi, Kathakali, etc. are few of the classical dance forms that originated in India. Our culture also boasts of numerous folk dances that vary from region to region.
Towards the end of the twentieth century, the importance of traditional dance forms had been dwindling. But it has seen a rise in the last 10-15 years with the younger generation taking an active interest in them.

Bollywood has always played a huge role in showcasing Indian dance styles across the world. Not completely traditional, the Bollywood dance style has become a genre in itself. Our culture has always attracted people from all over the world and has crossed boundaries in appealing to the global community. Anjali is the product of one such fascination.
Created in 2012 by talented dancers Claudia Ospino and Lidice Delgado, Anjali is a dance troupe well known for their performances on Indian music especially Bollywood.
Anjali- Danzas de India is responsible for propagating Indian dance forms in Colombia. Motivated by passion and respect for Indian culture, Anjali also teaches dance based on Bollywood soundtracks.

This year, Anjali- Danzas de India is coming to our very own Alegria all the way from Bogota, Colombia to display their dancing skills and enthrall everyone with their performances. They will be conducting the Colombian Salsa workshop for us and our students will have a great opportunity to learn from these amazing dancers.
